Case against the State of Utah for Willful Misconduct in Releasing Violent Offenders
Members of the Press:
My partner Alyson McAllister and I are holding a press conference tomorrow at 10:30 AM at our Law Offices. Shortly before that time, we will be filing the attached Complaint which summarizes exceptional and willful misconduct by the State of Utah and many corrections executives with respect to inappropriately releasing violent offenders and then failing to monitor them, with tragic consequences. As you will read in the Complaint, many of these violent offenders should never have been released, under law, in the first place. Further, these violent offenders then committed offenses while on parole and should have been immediately re-incarcerated. Due to the wrongful conduct of the Defendants, violent offenders were [1] allowed on parole and [2] not appropriately reincarcerated. These Offenders then committed horrible crimes against innocent people, including murder, serious assault, and rape. This case seeks to hold accountable those who failed the citizens of Utah, but particularly failed the innocent Plaintiffs in this Complaint.
Most or all of the Plaintiffs will have representatives here to whom you can direct questions.
Please respect this Embargo and do not release information or contact the Plaintiffs or Defendants before 11:00 AM on Monday morning.
If you have questions, you may call me this evening on my cell phone.
Thank you.
